Fun fact, if you were to download super mario world (or any other game) the publisher would not know it was you because they can't track people who download copyrighted material through direct download websites. Now if you were to torrent the game without a proper VPN then they would most likely know because they can track what IP's are using that torrent.

Honestly, if a company sues you for downloading a rom of a game they've left in the dust for years, I say never buy from them again. I will NEVER buy from Nintendo because of how they treat their players, and long time fans.

I love collecting ps2 games but recently started worrying about my current ps5 games knowing that if the game is on the disc it will probably be a buggy mess if the servers shut down someday. Looks like ill need to figure out emulation down the road.

There’s been a few patches out since then and it also is getting a physical release too though the PC one sucks: they skip on the DVD/cartridge of the other versions & just give us a flash drive with the game on it. Before you do Tomb Raider 2, sorry for pestering you about it again but I’d love to see an in-depth video of TRAE (core’s superior full remake compared to TRA) from the playable alpha build on both platforms it was on, to the design doc, screenshots of areas not in the alpha like the new Sanctuary Sphinx & its brand new flip map, to concept art, meshes not in the game & animation tests.

I won't forgive CDPR and I think more people should do the same. If a game works, works, it not. Just go to the next one. There's no shortage of good games to play. Waiting 3 years or more for a game to be considered complete is unfair and wrong to say the least. Not only that. Those things could be addressed in a sequel if the game was decent enough and got some traction. But if it is utterly bad, doesn't even deserves a sequel anyway. I'm getting too old to waste timein such things. Some times I have the same feeling as yours, then I remember I have a backlog to cover.

Game has now stopped buying and selling second hand games. I personally think next year they will start closing shops. Also I think the next Xbox and PlayStation consoles will both be the last consoles they both make. Games are getting to expensive to make and buy.

I turned a PC into a console by using steam big picture mode and emudeck windows to scan all my roms into steam. Its easy to do and leaves you with a convenient all in one system that i can just plug in 4 controllers and play any game.

Get whatever is the cheapest option at the time. Digital sales are for the win.

You've articulated the feeling of alienation, internal struggle, and the sense of being trapped with the hand you've been dealt, that I've experienced with being ND (diagnosed ADHD at 44 but definitely have some level of autistic characteristics in the mix). I found that having to face my weaknesses in one go and then having an official confirmation caused me to feel very low for several months and I resonated with your observations about your (much more intense) application process. It sounds like you've got access to good support to help out.

Here’s a fun tip I didn’t even know until 2019 or so: if you hold the fire button down when an enemy breaks your line of sight and you stop shooting them, Lara will stay locked on to the enemy and her head & the camera will track it. She may even still make an angry face like she does when firing when this is happening. Lara won’t fire again until the enemy comes back into range and she starts aiming again, preventing you from wasting ammo while holding a lock. Sadly, TR4, TR5 and all TRLEs based on their engines dropped this mechanic so if an enemy breaks line of sight in those, Lara will indeed lose her lock and keep shooting at the wall. I have no idea why they did this as combined with those games’s target switching via the look key that TR1+2 (at least) didn’t have, this would have been perfect until a hypothetical full release of Core’s TRAE’s. (The combat in later player made builds of the alpha leak is horrible, to be expected as that version is an alpha)

Ive ordered a JP Saturn for £50 from Japan. Import will be cheap because of that price. Will probably buy a Satiator in a few months.

Trading cards are also getting hard to find as well as certain merch for shows and games , it really Sucks

DRM-free digital files are the ultimate form of preservation. Nothing beats the freedom which comes from being able to copy a file endlessly to as many computers as want to download it.

If its renting games then make it cheaper than physical media. Make it 40$ opening day price. Cuz they dont have make a cd or a case or a manual

Looks cool. I, myself, tried to get into web development just before the 2008 financial crisis (after failing to get through gamedev school), and then spent over a decade on just getting my head back in the game to try again. Now I've spent the last 2 years on learning (or re-learning) C#, .NET, modern CSS, JavaScript, SQL, etc., and just hope I'll be able to land a job and the financial security to pursue gamedev again in my free time.

Just picked this up for $10 for the PS2 and I gotta say, I hate this game so much. I grew up playing Tomb Raider games and loved them but the controls on this one pissed me off and made me rage quit

Thanks for the shout-out! To clarify, I removed the M-DRIVE music pack from the Unity asset store because I disagreed with their business decisions. You can still find the pack on the RPG Maker store and Steam (as RPG Maker DLC), or you can buy an engine-agnostic version directly from me. When Godot gets around to having a storefront, I'll be putting it up there, too.

It had potential felt like an unfinished game

I'd say the reason people love this game so much is it lacks competitors. Besides Prince of Persia you won't find many games like this with decent graphics and modern controls all while kind of being like tomb raider. This is best there is which is sad. Standards have been lowered futher and people don't want to put up with saturn graphics and controls.
